Transportation Benefit Program
Grab your coffee, put in your earphones and let someone else do the driving. IDS employees who take advantage of public transportation by purchasing Metro Transit Go Cards are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of monthly expenses (not to exceed federal limits of $125/month).

Not ready to give up your wheels? You’re also eligible to defer up to $240/month pre-tax for reimbursement of monthly parking expenses.

Nice Ride Minnesota – Green Bike Transportation
Concerned about the environment? Us too. That’s why we offer reimbursement for an annual subscription to the Green Bike Transportation program (available in and near downtown Minneapolis) for those not accessing the Transportation Benefit Program or Health Club Reimbursement Program.
Pre-Tax Investing
401(k)
The market waits for no one and neither does our 401k. IDS employees are eligible to join our 401(k) at any time. The plan offers automatic enrollment at 3% of your total salary, unless you choose an alternative savings level.

Daycare Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
No question, kids are expensive. Pocket some extra cash by saving pre-tax dollars from each paycheck to pay for qualifying daycare or eldercare expenses incurred while you are busy at work.

Health Savings Account (HSA) and/ or Limited Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
If you take advantage of IDS’ health care benefits, you’re also eligible to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Limited Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and/ or Health Savings Account (HSA). These programs help you save money by paying for qualified expenses (e.g., copays, prescription costs, orthodontia, vision expenses) with pre-tax dollars reserved from each paycheck. You decide how much to contribute based on your estimate of eligible expenses in the coming year.
Paid Time Away
Paid Time Off (PTO)
We want you to be successful at IDS and we know that means finding a great work-life balance. To keep our employees feeling healthy and sharp, paid vacation time increases based on years of employment:

  • 1-5 years of full-time employment = 15 PTO days/ year
  • 5-10 years of full-time employment = 20 PTO days/ year
  • 10-15 years of full-time employment = 25 PTO days/ year
  • after 15 years of full-time employment = 30 PTO days/ year

  • Holidays
    Want to watch fireworks? Have a soft spot for Auld Lang Syne? IDS observes eight public holidays and provides up to three additional floating holidays to be used at the employee’s discretion. So go ahead, revel a little.

    Life Insurance
    Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. IDS employees are automatically enrolled in this employer-paid life insurance program, paying the employee’s beneficiary $50,000. Not enough peace of mind? Additional life insurance coverage can be purchased for you and your dependents at affordable rates.

    Disability
    When you can’t work due to injury or illness, these programs provide income protection for you and your family. Employees are automatically enrolled in both short-term and long-term disability coverage programs administered by SunLife Financial that replace a percentage of your pay in the event of a qualifying disability.

    Flu Vaccinations
    We can’t make the shot more comfortable, but we can make it more convenient. Annual flu shots are sponsored for all available IDS employees.

    Through this program, employees can get confidential counseling with issues such as legal or financial services, aging parents, stress, etc.
